School Settlement Association

School Settlement (DYCD program)

School Settlement Association-St. Nicks Alliance is a not-for profit organization in Brooklyn which provides comprehensive free after school activities for approximately one hundred PS 34 students. This program, which is free of charge to participants, is located on the school premises and operates daily from 2:35 PM to 5:45 PM. The program also runs during the winter recess, spring recess, and summer vacation. School Settlement Association is available to PS 34 students in grades K-5. A separate application is required.

School Settlement Association at PS34 is a school-based program that only enrolls PS34 participants in grades k-5. Families can now begin to sign up online for the 2024-25 school year. The program runs from the end of the school day to 5:45 pm beginning in September.

Step 3 - Complete the application and submit.

Application submission does NOT mean your child/ren are enrolled in the program. If your child is accepted into the program you will receive an acceptance letter via email from Program Director Jose Flores, that is when your child/ren are enrolled in the program.

PS 34 Chess Club and Team (ICN Chess)

From complete beginners to advancing tournament players, our goal is that all PS 34 players can experience both the joy & significant social/educational benefits of learning and playing chess. Our PS 34 Team will prepare for local, City, State & National Competitions. Our in-person programming will match players into groups based on skill, interest level & age. This allows coaches to identify and create the right training environment for each player (complete beginner - advanced competitors).

2:15 PM - 5:00 PM (with 5:30 late-stay option) Chess Club meets on Tuesdays.

Broken Bones Skate Club

At BBSC kids will build confidence while learning how to skate in a safe environment with professional instructors. Kids will be taken to local skate parks for lessons & equipment can be provided at no additional cost. What are the benefits of skateboarding? Physical exercise, Mental Health, Social interaction, Creativity, Self esteem, Problem Solving skills just to name a few.

Classes will happen every Wednesday when school is in session Sept.-Dec. 2:30pm-5:30pm

City Kids

City Kids learning labs are dedicated spaces where our kiddos can explore being an artist, an innovator, a chef, an actor, or anything else they can imagine! Greenpoint YMCA

The Greenpoint YMCA afterschool program for ages 4-12 focuses on boosting learning, championing wellness and play, and building competence and confidence in children. The program, located at 99 Meserole Avenue, runs every regular school day, from 3 PM to 6 PM (because learning doesn’t stop at 3!), with pick-up at dismissal from PS34. The Y also offers youth enrichment programs (swimming, soccer, basketball, ballet, and more), holiday camps, and summer camps.

Last Place On Earth is an afterschool that provides all sorts of different activities! From Dungeons & Dragons to Improv to Young Fashion Designers and more! Last Place is all about being able to express the imaginative mind while exploring their abilities, skills & talents. We operate Monday - Friday with free pick up until 5:30pm. We encourage that only ages 8 - 11 attend our after school on Wednesdays & Thursdays while Monday, Tuesday and Friday have clubs available for all ages. We do our best to work with parents! Pretty flexible and begin the first day of school and end the last day of school.

Nueva York Kiddos

Nueva York Kiddos is a Spanish After-School program through an engaging curriculum that includes hands-on projects, fun stories, music and games. Our wonderful teachers are Spanish native and have been trained to teach through positive learning methods. Our students play outdoors before every class and PreK - 4th Grade students are welcome to join us.

Space Club

Space Club is establishing a new after school program! We will be providing our member's children with after school pick up from several local elementary schools in the Greenpoint area followed by afternoon care in our facility. Our after school program is designed to provide these children with quality care, personal engagement, and lots of fun from 2:30pm - 5:30pm Monday - Thursday.

The Tiny Scientist

The Tiny Scientist aims to bring out the inner scientist in every child through hands-on and minds-on classes. Williamsburg Soccer Club

Kids soccer classes for ages 18 months - 10 years old and specialty programming (travel teams, Rec League, scrimmage sessions) for players 5-10 years old afterschool and on weekends. Brooklyn Craft Company is a modern craft supply shop and DIY workshop space in Greenpoint. We are excited to offer sewing programming for kids ages 8-12 during the school year! Workshops take place weekly at 4-5:30pm, with sessions running for 5-10 weeks, depending on the session chosen. ELM Foundation

ELM Foundation is a non-profit organization in North Brooklyn with the mission of promoting the healing power of the arts! We focus on arts education for kids, advocacy for art therapy, and engagement with the community. This fall we are offering three FREE after school kids art classes (ages 10-15, all mixed level).

The session goes from Sept. 17-Nov. 8th. (8 week session)

Hudson Table

We are a culinary studio that provides a number of events and classes including kids' after school, school holiday, family, and summer camp classes. Most of our drop off classes are for either 4-7 year olds or 8-14 year olds. All classes are hands-on and give kids a chance to learn how to cook and develop a passion for food and being in the kitchen. After school classes are on Mondays 3:45-5:15pm for 8-14 year olds and Tuesdays 3:45-5pm for 4-7 year olds.

School of Rock Williamsburg

School of Rock provides performance-based music programs for kids, teens and adults of all ages and skill levels, in a fun, lively environment through group classes and combining one-on-one music lessons with band rehearsals for some programs, culminating with live shows at local venues. Programs include:

Little Wing (Ages 3-5) - Weekly group class
Rookies (Ages 6-7) - Weekly group class
Rock 101 (Ages 8 -12) - Weekly 1-on-1 lesson plus weekly group rehearsal in-person
Performance Program (Ages 8 - 18) - Weekly 1-on-1 lesson plus group rehearsal, culminating with a live show!

Tumbleweeds Art Group

Tumbleweeds Art Group is a private art program for children and teens located in a small and cozy studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. We offer after-school art classes, one-on-one lessons, and holiday & summer art programs! Our class sizes remain small (no more than 6 kids) so all our students receive plenty of one-on-one attention and guidance with their creations. Tumbleweeds students are exposed to a wide range of artistic movements, crafts, skills, and techniques including, but not limited to sculpture, printmaking, painting, drawing, mixed-media, fiber art, printmaking, classical art, decorative art, and so on! Each of our classes begins with a lesson and discussion based on our weekly topic then on to our structured project and creating!

Classes run from 2:45/3:00 until 5:30 (drop-off after 2:45 is also fine)

VITAL Climbing Gym

Climbing Club focuses on developing fundamental climbing skills in a fun, supportive environment. Classes encourage students to focus on personal goals and persevere through challenges. Our goal is for your child to leave class with a sense of accomplishment and pride! Classes are 3:30 - 5pm with early drop-off at 3pm.
